Learn how to tap into your own labour tools and bring them with you on your journey into motherhood. The key elements of prenatal yoga, including breathing, yoga postures, stretching, and releasing the spine will be the focus of this class. Esther Myers established her Studio in 1979. What began as a small studio in the Annex area of Toronto has grown into a vibrant institution that offers classes, workshops and retreats to students at every level of yoga practice, as well as pre and post natal yoga, yoga for teens, yoga for the Deaf (in ASL), and a highly respected Teacher Training Programme. Inspired by the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli and Esther Myers, the style of hatha yoga taught at the Studio is both accessible and challenging. Each class highlights the profound connection between the breath, gravity, and spinal mobility.Prenatal Yoga classes have been conducted with Monica Voss, telephone 416- 944-0838

The founder of Yoga4Lyf, Effie Karadjian, a mother of three, began her journey on the yogic path 8 years ago in a pre-natal yoga class and hasn't looked back since. A certified Hatha instructor, she completed her teacher training at the Yoga Sanctuary and continues to enrich her practice with guidance from Ron Reid. Noticing the transformational qualities of yoga within herself led her to open Yoga4Lyf to share the joys and benefits of yoga with her community. She encourages her students to honour their bodies and tries to tailor each class to the students' abilities. The Yoga Studio :Pregnancy is a time to be honoured. Practicing pre-natal yoga is a great way to help you focus more deeply on your pregnancy, giving yourself and your baby the time and attention you both need. Pre-natal yoga class involves gentle stretching and strengthening as well as breathing techniques, sounding and deep relaxation. It's the one place that you can come and be 100% pregnant and just be with other women who are sharing your experience. It's fun, easy and helps eliminate many of the common discomforts of pregnancy, from backache to ankle swelling and many others. Recommended most for the second and third trimester of pregnancy.
