| The Fidhorn Ecovillage model is a conscious response to the complex problem of how to transform our human settlements, whether they be villages, towns or cities, into full-featured sustainable communities, harmoniously and harmlessly integrated into the natural environment.We are a founder member of the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN), and work with intergovernmental agencies both educationally and in the creation of policy guidance for sustainable development and delivery of village-scale sustainability programmes.

Gaia Education an international team of educators developing curricula and courses on Development for Urban and Rural Settlements. Gaia Education team of leading edge educators called GEESE- Global Ecovillage Educators for a Sustainable Earth have developed the Eccovillage Design Curriculum, a four week comprehensive course to the fundamentals of ecovillage design.The Ecovillage Design Curriculum has the endorsement of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research- UNITAR. The Ecovillage Design Curriculum is an official contribution to the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development- UNDESD.

Tamera is a peace project in Alentejo, southern Portugal, with a project site that comprises 331 acres, 30 km inland from the Atlantic coast.The project sees itself as a support and training base for the establishment of a global power for peace.The project's research work deals with new ways of healing both humans and nature. The aim is to develop a cultural model for a non-violent lifestyle: a Healing Biotope. With the term 'healing biotope', we mean an intentional community of people, animals and plants mutually enhancing each others life-energy - a place where they are no longer restricted by fear or violence.
